Woodywoodstraw The Devils Son In Law, is Norwood Fisher (of Fishbone) in an acoustic show. The monikers may or may not distinguish his current excesses, usually, pot, pussy or Patron tequila, but which ever name titles the show, he'll be singing about some pretty ridiculous subjects, mam gland love (Tough Titty), surfing (Wallow In The Wett Spot) and bong use (Pluggit With A Nugget) for example. Playing acoustic guitar and 5 string acoustic bass, this is Wood in the raw, although he may be accompanied by a percussionist, a violinist or a dancing devil's daughter or two, it's all Wood, in the end. He may completely improvise a song in the moment, putting everything on the line, usually pulling it off, but even if it's disastrous, he never ceases to entertain.
Inspired by Richard Pryor, Vancouver native Mr. Plow, Blowfly (the
original nasty rapper), Bob Forest of Thelonious Monster, Ol' Dirty
Bastard and Fear, this is an unpredictable experience, unfamiliar
even to the performer as well as the audience. On the edge and not
to be missed. |
